These waffles are a delightful twist on the classic breakfast favorite, made with the goodness of applesauce for a touch of sweetness and extra flavor. Perfect for a cozy morning meal.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions:

Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, sugar, and cinnamon in a bowl with a whisk

Put the eggs, milk, melted butter, vanilla extract, and applesauce in a different bowl

Combine well

Add the wet ingredients to the dry ones and mix them together just until they are mixed

Watch out not to mix too much; it's okay to have some lumps

Warm up your waffle iron and use cooking spray or oil to lightly coat it

Follow the manufacturer's instructions for how much batter to put on the hot waffle iron when you pour it on

Close the waffle iron and cook the waffles for about 4 to 5 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crisp

With care, take the waffles out of the iron and serve them hot with your favorite toppings

Have fun with your tasty Mom's Applesauce Waffles!
